Toggling on the device causes a mechanical clicking sound somewhere in the device (other than the click from the power button) is this normal?

This is normal behavior. That clicking coming from the inside of the instrument's chassis is a relay/transmitter component installed on the PCB which is delaying the activation of the audio output of the Tracker/Play device so there's no loud pop noticeable on your speakers or headphones on the on/off toggle. That prevents your gear and your ears from harm.

My iConnectivity MIDI USB hub is not recognising my Polyend instrument, why?

All the Polyend MIDI class-compliant instruments, besides sending the MIDI data, is also transmitting - CDC (serial) and Raw HID. Seems like for some reason iConnectivity gear cannot filter these, while most of the hubs we're using are doing this without any issues. They are aware of this and maybe one day they'll get kind enough to implement filtering of these messages in their gear. We'll see. Before this happens we consider our instruments as incompatible.
